Love my boy too!

We were having a discussion this morning over breakfast and scripture study....he said he couldn't wait till he was older so he could read the scriptures and then asked if he could borrow mom's or dad's scriptures to read. Then I told him when he turned 8 he would get his own set of scriptures. His eyes lit up, he jumped around and shouted that he couldn't wait!

I LOVE MY GIRL!!!

Lake Powell

So we were able to hit up Lake Powell for a day while we were in UT. It was a long day, but it was great!! This time we were able to go up to Rainbow Bridge which was fun. Hot, but fun!

Rainbow Bridge was fun...

Jet Skiing is ALWAYS fun :) I hit my personal best at 67 MPH...had I known the thing topped out at 70 I would have gone for it!

Me being a nerd...

Cameron water skiing...could there be a more beautiful backdrop?!

And last but not least....

A heart in the rock, how cool is that?!?! I HEART LAKE POWELL!!!

Football

Of course we had to have a pickup game of football while we were on vaca. After all it'd been what...4 days since Cameron had played last?! Just kidding hunny ;) We were anxious to get out and moving after a particularly delicious dinner, so some of us headed across the street to the high school football field. Tried to avoid the HUGE sprinkler holes in the grass and managed to wear ourselves out in the first 3 minutes. But it was fun and just what the doctor ordered.

Do you see the fear in Cameron's face? That's right baby.

Blue 42! Blue 42! Hike! I believe those were my exact words. And yes, I did throw a touchdown pass.

Kanaraville Falls

I was on a bit of a hiatus the past few weeks. I was able to go to my parents for a little vacation before our family reunion. It was great, and we did so many things! It was a great fun-filled 3 weeks! I don't have all my pictures, but when I get them I'll do another post or two, but one of my favorite things we did while over there was a hike (we did a few) called Kanaraville Falls. If you're ever in southern UT and feel so inclined, this is a GREAT hike! Pretty easy, we took Kai on it and he did well, and it was beautiful! River hikes are so fun anyway (Narrows anyone?), and then adding slot canyons and waterfalls....can't beat that!

WARNING: Picture heavy post...I'd apologize but it's my blog so I can put as many on as I want :)

Start out in the river like this....

It starts to look like this in places...

Then you come across a place or two like this...

Stop to take a few pictures...

Get to the Slot Canyon and have your breath taken away...

Climb up the "ladder" that you had to reposition with the help of another group to even make it up...

Pass by the rainbow of algae and the awesome rock wall...

Hike a little further up the stream and find your lunch spot.

Cool off a bit (A.K.A. prove you're a man)...

Hike up 3 more minutes to the next slot canyon. Almost wish your son wasn't with you so you could keep going, but also glad he is so you can turn around and go home!

Enjoy a perfect day of hiking and enjoying God's beautiful country and good family to share it with. Love you guys!
